Whether working with a makeup artist, or doing your makeup yourself, the most important thing to remember is that no matter how glamorous or dramatic you want to look, you should still look like you. While there are specific wedding-day makeup tips for your eyes, skin and lips, it's very important that you look like yourself. Skin and Bare It
Concealer, which can cake and crack after a long day, should be applied only where it is needed, like the inside corners of your eyes and the crevices around your nose. Apply loose powder (instead of pressed) in the T-zone. Use unpowdered blotting papers to keep the glow, not the oil.
Brow-Wow-Wow
Supersleek brows are a must for the minimalist, because they act like a natural frame for the face. Hire a pro a week before the wedding if you're in doubt, but be warned: Don't wax them at the last minute. Smooth your shaped brows with a small brush (a clean toothbrush works wonders) and set with clear mascara.
An Eye for Detail
Play up your eyes where the makeup is more likely to stay in place. Want to make eyes brighter? Apply a tiny bit of shimmer shadow to the inner corners. For clean-looking lids, apply a golden bronze powder in the crease, which offers contour without bold color. Line both the top and bottom lids with a brown pencil, set with another light coat of bronze shadow. Curl lashes and finish with waterproof mascara.
