What is the most popular request you get? Is there one cake that outsells the rest?
I get all sorts of requests, from the traditional white wedding cake to a confection with a picture of the couple's kittens on it -- made out of sugar, of course!

Do most brides know what kind of cake they want when they come to you? Or do you usually have to help them decide?
There is a huge range. Many brides bring a page from a magazine where they've seen one of my cakes and want it replicated exactly the same way. Others are torn between wanting a traditional design and something more unique and modern. When this happens I usually talk with them about the other design elements of the wedding: colors, reception decor, flowers, etc. We try to use those themes as inspiration for the perfect cake.
